What we do: Key Services

Support to Companies

The IA Centre supports companies through the events and workshop programme, many of which are run in conjunction with partner organisations including the Enterprise Networks and trade associations. We also provide information on a host of IA issues, and offer tailored one to one support to individual companies when appropriate.

Group sessions such as the workshops we run illustrate IA management through a mixture of real life case studies, interactive exercises and games. These sessions can be altered to suit any particular audience e.g. a group from an industry sector such as medical devices, business advisers, etc.

Activities with individual organisations aim to look at their intellectual assets from a historical perspective i.e. from just prior to incorporation to present day. The IA Questionnaire has been developed with this in mind, and can help to clarify how the organisation has evolved over time, with core competencies and markets changing - hence the development of IA over time.

Tools are being developed in line with the demand we receive from organisations. As such, an IA register was recently developed to facilitate the identification of IA, and can be used as a checklist to generate ideas of what types of IA your organisation may own. Of course IA is a dynamic entity within an organisation as it matures so IA management is a continual process.

Once identified, the IA Centre can assist you in suggesting options for safeguarding and exploiting your IA. Many of the suggestions we make will require the services of specialist organisations, so we will signpost or refer you to the most appropriate contacts.
